<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a breathable barrier fabric suitable for using as a protecting cover used in an industry, a hospital, or the like. CONSTITUTION: This breathable non-porous fabric is formed by sizing a substrate containing bonded fibers forming void spaces in its inside with a film-forming filler that fills the voids of the substrate to form a solid film. Also, by introducing air into the film-forming filler, it is possible to form a porous barrier fabric. Since the non-porous breathable barrier fabric is permeable with water vapor such as water content of a human body and impermeable with air and aqueous liquid, it acts as a barrier against wind, dust and other air-borne contaminants, e.g. bacteria, viruses, pesticides, or the like, as well as against aqueous liquid such as blood. A porous barrier fabric can increase comforlablenes though barrier property against air is lowered.</p> |
