PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the reliability and life of the fixed part of an ultrasonic horn by separating functionally the fixed part from a flexural vibration part using a neck which holds the neutral surface of a bend in a tool for ultrasonic processing. CONSTITUTION:The fixed part 2 of a bonding tool 1 is fastened to the tool fixing hole 7 of an ultrasonic horn 5 using a set screw 6. In addition, necks 8a, 8b, each having a thickness equivalent to 50 to 80% of that of the shank part of the bonding tool 1 are provided above and under the fixed part 2. Under this structural design, the impact on the fixed part 2 of flextural vibration parts 3, 4 is reduced in accordance with the thickness of the necks 8a, 8b. Further, the lengths 11, 12 of the flextural vibration parts 3, 4 are selected so that the lengths match with the central frequency of the ultrasonic system. On the other hand, the length 10 of the fixed part 2 can be selected more freely by the above structural design and therefore, the strained state of the fixed part 2 remains stable without a loss. |
