PURPOSE: To eliminate consumption of a large amount of energy by providing a means for supplying individual signals to fluid circuit means to control a variable orifice to change orifice characteristics, changing attenuating characteristics of a shock absorber and stabilizing a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: The passive suspension system comprises a first fluid detecting means 76 for detecting a pitching operation of a vehicle body to output a corresponding first fluid signal, a second fluid detecting means 74 for detecting a rolling operation of the body to output a corresponding second fluid signal, and fluid accelerometer means 46, 48, 50, 52 mounted at wheels for detecting operations of wheels according to an irregularity of a road to output corresponding third fluid signals. These signals are supplied to fluid circuit means 62, 64 to control variable orifices 38, 40, 42, 44 to change attenuating characteristics of shock absorbers 28, 30, 32, 34 to stabilize the vehicle. |
