In a separable tape-supported slide fastener comprising a pin-and-socket connection at one end, accidental separation of the two halves by a transverse pull exerted below the socket connection is prevented by a slidable mounting of the pin socket which is provided with internal camming formations shifting the socket in response to such pull to interlock the end portions of the intermeshing coupling elements.
