PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic containing a solvent extract of the leaves of guava, having high skin-beautifying effect and effective in inhibiting hyaluronidase activity and improving chapped skin, etc. CONSTITUTION:Leaves of guava are extracted with water or a hydrophilic organic solvent (e.g. ethanol, methanol or acetone) and the obtained extract is used as a component of the objective cosmetic. The cosmetic suppresses active oxygen, exhibits antioxidation action, retards the aging of the skin and suppresses the darkening of the skin. Accordingly, it gives fair and soft skin having springiness and gloss. |
