The new compsns. contain a compound of formula (I), esp. DDVP:- and, as stabiliser, 0.1-10% based on total weight of compsns. of a benzimidazole (II):- where R=1-4C organic radical; Z=O or S; X and X'=halogen; R'= metal; R"=phenyl, furyl, pyridyl, (iso)thiazolyl, (iso)oxazolyl, thiadiazolyl or oxadiazolyl, all of which may be substd. by 1-3 of the following, halogens, NO2, OH, alkoxyS, SH, alkylthio, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl, aralkenyl, or aryl. R"'=1-4 opt. groups selected from halogens, OH, NO2 or the following joined direct or via O or S, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl, aralkenyl, aryl and heteroaryl. Z=st or branched saturated or ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon (1-4C). In an example a composition for impregnation of a solid support was prepared containing 49.5% technical DDVP, 25.0% isobutyl benzoate. 25.0% benzoyl propionate and 0.5% (II) R'=Cu, R"=j-thiazolyl R=H, Z'=CH2.
