Furnace for prodn. of high-structure carbon-black at h igh prodn. from hydrocarbons or heavy residues with a carbon utilisation of 70% of the feed carbon per kg of carbon black, in which the cylindrical furnace is divided into two parts by a porous partition, fuel gas and air being introduced into the enclosure upstream of the partition and the residue to the dissociated down stream thereof.
