Method for producing a sliding bearing equipped with an internal lining having a low coefficient of friction and capable of withstanding significant radial loads. A bearing body (1), particularly of steel is produced, internally defining a cylindrical passage (2) capable of receiving a sliding shaft, a ring (4) is produced made of fluorinated resin, particularly made of PTFE, which has an outside radial section of slightly greater dimensions than those of the passage (2) of the bearing body (1), there is placed on the bearing body (1), a die (5) through which there passes a frustoconical orifice (6) which has a mouth facing the passage (2) of the bearing body (1), with the same dimensions as the latter, and an opposite mouth with greater dimensions than those of the outside radial section of the ring (4), and, by means of an axial translational movement, the ring (4) is inserted into the bearing body (1) through the die (5). <IMAGE>
