Benzo(cd) indoles prepn. Title cpds. (I) useful as vasoconstrictors and sedatives. (where X is H, halogen, Me or MeS and Y is H, or X is H and Y is Me, or both X and Y are Cl), are prepared by reacting the appropriate 1-benzo cd indolyl-2-alkyl-isothiourea with ethylene diamine. A specific cpd. is 6-chloro-1,2,2a,3,4,5-hexahydro-1(2-imidazoline-2-yl-amino)benzo - cd indole. |
