Cpds (I) and their salts (where m is 0, 1 or 2, and R1 is (a) benzyl opt. substd. by one or more F, Cl, Br, Me or MeO or alpha-Me or (b) thenyl, MeOCH2CH2, EtOCH2CH2, MeSCH2CH2 EtSCH2CH2, EtS(CH2)2, cyckopropylmethyl, allyl, methyl, allyl, dimethylallyl, 3-methyl-2-methylene-ene-3-butenyl or propanyl) are prepd. either by reactin a cpd. (I; R1 = H) with R1X (where X is halogen) or with allene in the presence of a catalyst (to give I; R1 is 3-methyl-2-methylene-3-butenyl) or by reacting the corresponding cyclic acid anhydride with R1NH2 then reducing the di-imide with a mixed metal hydride. Thus (I; R1 = PhCH2, m = 2) is prepd. by reducing the cyclic imide with liAlH4. |
