The housing for enclosing computer tape spools is produced from two parts, a base and a lid, (12,14) that latch together. Both halves of the housing are of a general cylindrical form and create an internal annular space for the tape spools. The centre sections both have locating surfaces, coaxial inner rings, (24,26) for the tape. One centre projection is produced with a small central aperture (32) that acts as a location surface for a projection (34) formed on the other housing half. A projecting lug with a claw section (40) passes through a formed slot and latches against the other half to secure the sections together. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple construction, low cost. Latching parts are produced from one part each on base and lid, so no separate components are needed.
