A chemical plant is so arranged that a number of reactor vessels (1) are arranged on a column (21) in sections (3,22) such that a reduced volume of space is required for their installation without any sacrifice in ease of maintenance; that the overall structure incorporates the process system and is surrounded by a multistorey (2) structure providing access to each storey (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement provides for the construction of a chemical plant and the associated process. The arrangement minimises space requirements without sacrificing ease of access for maintenance.
