The outer formwork is a circular shaft (6) and has concentric inner sections (5). The underside of the first annulus to be cast is sealed with a metal ring (15) which has a leading cutting edge (18). This ring is anchored into the cast concrete. As the lower sections harden, the formed concrete is lowered and the inner section removed for reintroduction at the top of the shaft. USE/ADVANTAGE- Quick method of forming shaft in soil especially for a well.
