Synchronising of machine shaft rotation with machine working cycle - requires shaft position monitoring by gray code encoder with synchronising pulse derived from accessing table data for value operations
摘要
A machine system has a shaft (12) to which is connected a 10 bit gray code absolute encoder (14) that delivers a parallel input (10) to the system processor. Within the processor system is a table of switching values (20) that determine when a number of valves (18a-18n) on the machine should be operated in terms of the angular position of the shaft. The synchronisation of the machine with the rotation of the shaft is determined by a pulse that is generated (24). This is based on the output of a parity bit generator (22) that receives the gray code input. Also stored within the controller is a table of valve delay times (21) that can be used for compensation. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides accurately synchronised operation.
