The arrangement contains a housing (1) directly or indirectly connected to the liquid and vapour chambers of a liquid system contg. two liquids of different densities, the higher density liquid of which is to be removed. A control system contains a float (2) in the housing with a transducer (4). A connecting line (9) for the liquid to be removed passes through a lower housing aperture (7). The hollow spherical float floats in the higher density liquid but sinks in the lower density one. The connecting line is opened and closed according to the position of the float wrt. the transducer which is arranged near the housing bottom. USE/ADVANTAGE - For controlling the removal of a denser liquid from a mixture of two immiscible liquids, esp. in a commercial refrigeration system with ammonia coolant, at low technical cost.
