Video image projection system - uses deflection mirror and projection lens for combining three prim. colour beams provided by CRT's or LCD cells

The CRT's (1A,1B,1C) provide red, green and blue light beams, their beam axes lying in the same plane. A mirror (7) at the front side of the CRT's (1A,1B,1C) reflects the beams in a perpendicular direction. A projection lens (8) in the path of the reflected beams combines the latter and directs them onto a projection screen (4). The CRT's (1A,1B,1C) pref. lie along the positive and negative X axes of a coordinate system and along the positive Y axis, the mirror (7) deflecting all three beams in the direction of the positive Z axis. Alternatively. liquid crystal display cells are used in place of the CRT's (1A,1B,1C), the remaining components being the same. USE - Front or rear projection TV system.
