To give a controlled settling of a dungheap, the dung is fed to the lower section of the heap and it is aerated from below. Also claimed is an assembly from a dung channel with a conveyor (4) for the dung to the dung storage (6) area. Its outlet is below the dungheap (7), and it has a fan (11) to impel air. One or more air outlet openings are below the heap. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is for the disposal of dung from cattle sheds, etc., to be held in a heap. The operation ensures that the lower section of the heap decomposes consistently and that smells are contained.
