The elastic plastics strip (1) has ridges (4) on its underside (3), with spaced part ribs (5) running in the strips' lengthwise direction and on each of which is a reinforcement (9). Each reinforcement is made of duroplastic or thermoplastic material with unidirectional reinforcement fibres forming a round profile. The trough (6) between the ridges is wider than the top (7) of the ridges which has a semicircular cross section and incorporates the reinforcement element. USE/ADVANTAGE - The more elastic plastics strip possesses greater flexural strength.
