PURPOSE:To suppress the deformation of a zinc electrode and improve the life of an alkaline zinc storage battery by forming a regenerated cellulose membrane at the center except both edges in the width direction of the surface of the zinc electrode that is opposed to a positive electrode through a separator. CONSTITUTION:A zinc electrode 1 is manufactured by mixing and press-rolling zinc oxide, metal zinc, cadmium oxide, and fluororesin into a sheet form and crimping the form into a copper net. Then, a cylindrical nickel zinc storage battery is formed by arranging a belt-like regenerated cellulose membrane 3 at the center of the surface, combining and winding a separator 4, impregnated fabric 5', and sintering type nickel electrode 2 to form an electrode body, and housing and sealing it in an armored can. As a result, since the regenerated cellulose membrane 3 holds an alkaline electrolyte well, the reaction of the central part of the zinc electrode 1 can be increased and the current distribution of the entire surface can be uniformalized. Also, the deformation of a plate can be suppressed and the cycle life can be improved. |
