PURPOSE:To provide an acoustic effect generating device and method by which a virtual sound source can be moved to an arbitrary position. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a position signal outputting device 2 which outputs a position correction signal 15 of a value between the position of the virtual sound source and the appropriate position of the virtual sound source, and signal detector 3 which detects the signal, and outputs it to a digital signal processor 1. The digital signal processor 1 operates the processing of the phase and amplitude information of an input signal based on the position correction signal 15, and moves the position of the virtual sound source to the appropriate position of the virtual sound source. When the virtual sound source is moved to the appropriate position, the position signal outputting device 2 outputs a position decision signal 16 to the signal detector 3, and the signal detector 3 outputs the position decision signal 16 to the digital signal processor 1. Thus, the digital signal processor 1 decides the position of the virtual sound source. |
