PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device which can form an image by properly selecting and switching a character mode and a photograph mode by an electrostatic charge device whose circuit constitution is relatively simple. CONSTITUTION:In the image forming device provided with the scorotron electrostatic charge device 11 to which a current is supplied from a constant current power source 29 by a high voltage and which electrostatically charges the surface of a photosensitive body 10 to prescribed potential so as to form the image of a character original, a mode switching means 30 (mode set key) which instructs that a mode is switched to the image forming mode of a photograph original from the image forming mode of the character original and a current switching means 410 which sets the surface potential of the body 10 to be lower than the prescribed potential by switching the current outputted from the power source 29 when the mode is switched to the photograph mode are provided. |
