C 7308 (V) An improvement in the rinse step of a machine dishwashing operation is disclosed, wherein the improvement comprises the use, in the rinse liquor, of an effective amount of a poly-amino acid compound of formula: Poly(X)n wherein each X is independently aspartic acid or salts thereof, glutamic acid or salts thereof, glutamine, asparagine, or mixtures thereof; and n is 3 to 1000. Rinse aid compositions comprising said poly-amino acids are also disclosed.
