PURPOSE:To stably transmit a light signal in an atmosphere of high radiation resistance by making photobleeding light with specific wavelength incident from one end of a pure quartz core fiber separately from signal light. CONSTITUTION:The high-purity quartz core fiber is employed as an optical fiber 1. The signal light from a light source 3 is coupled by an optical coupler 2, made incident on the fiber 1, and passed through the optical coupler 2 and detected by a detector 4. Simultaneously, the photobleeding light which has a 0.6-0.9mum wavelength is made incident on the optical fiber 1 through photocouplers 2 and 2 from light sources 5 and 5 to suppress radiation deterioration of the fiber. Therefore, photobleeding curing is caused without reference to the wavelength of the signal light to enable use in the high-radiation atmosphere. |
