PURPOSE:To eliminate impurity or the like attached on a belt when the belt is exchanged to a new transfer belt. CONSTITUTION:The transfer belt 10 with no residual life is exchanged to new one. When the exchanging work thereof is finished, a maintenance counter is cleared. Before a copying mode is started, the belt 10 is automatically rotated seven times. During it, the cleaning roller 26 of a second cleaning part is made to press-contact with the belt 10 and the impurity attached on the new belt 10 or the moisture content thereof is eliminated. |
