摘要 PURPOSE:To keep adhesion and lubricity even under any conditions and to maintain lubricating effect over a long period of time by sticking a lubricant layer contg. specified substances on a thin ferromagnetic metal film. CONSTITUTION:A thin ferromagnetic metal film 2 is formed on a nonmagnetic substrate 1 and a lubricant layer 3 contg. perfluoroalkylcarboxylic ester and an org. boron compd. is stuck on the metal film 2. The coefft. of kinetic friction of the resulting magnetic recording medium can be reduced even under any service conditions and excellent running stability and wear resistance can be ensured. Since the solidification temp. of the perfluoroalkylcarboxylic ester is low, the lubricating effect is satisfactory even during use at a low temp. The adhesive strength of the ester to the metal film 2 is increased by combination with the org. boron compd., the lubricating effect is maintained over a long period of time and the magnetic recording medium can well withstand use even under severe conditions.
