PURPOSE:To improve work efficiency by simplifying operation of character editing. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a character input mode 123 which performs KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion for inputted characters and a character editing mode 124 which edits characters of inputted characters. And, an input means which accepts character input and mode change instructions, a mode change means which switches over modes, a management means which manages the command corresponding to a character editing function and a character editing means which performs character editing are included. The mode change means, at normal execution of the character inputting mode 123, switches over to the character editing mode 124 when an instruction for mode change is given from the input means, and at execution of the character editing mode 124, switches over to the character input mode 123 when an instruction for mode change is given from the input means. The character editing means, in a character editing mode, refers to the management means when instructions about command and preset character editing range are given from the input means, and executes the character editing function corresponding to the input over the character editing range. |
