METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECORDING, STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL OF AUDIO COMMUNICATIONS A logging system has two logging nodes and an administrative node for continuously and automatically digitally recording audio communications over long periods of time from telephone and radio lines. The communications are recorded on directly accessible digital media, such as WORM platters. The system is integrated with a telephone system and also records start/stop times, line numbers, and other identifying material for the communications, on the same media as the communications. The replay of communications may be initiated and heard over a touch tone phone. The system has security and notification features. Each logging node operates as a standby for the other and for the administration node.
