PURPOSE:To provide an optical head with high condensing efficiency which allows a disk face to be always vertically irradiated with laser beams even when posture variation (pitching) is generated at the time of moving a movable optical system for a separation type optical head. CONSTITUTION:A beam deflecting means in the movable optical system 2 is constituted of a penta prism 20. When the optical system is inclined only by a pitch angle by pitching for carrying, the prism 20 and an objective lens 7 are together inclined only by the pitch angle. Since the prism 20 has a function of bending incident light always by 90 deg. and projecting a bent laser beam 4, the beam 4 projected from a fixed optical system 3 is made incident always vertically on the face of the disk 6 and high condensing efficiency can be obtained. |
