A tibia intramedullary nail having proximal and distal end segments bent towards a center segment at angles of about -20.degree. and about +3.degree., respectively, and wherein the proximal end segment is about 142 mm long. The proximal end segment is longer than normal. It enters the medullary cavity much sooner whereby it prevents excessive bending or bending pressure on the intramedullary nail. The distal end segment serves as a gliding surface when the marrow stud is driven into the posterior cortex. |
