Process and apparatus for withdrawing solids from a pick-up area in a vessel in a more easily controllable way, utilizing an inserted nozzle comprising an outer tube and one or more inner tube(s) retracted inside the outer tube, which process comprises the use of a transport fluid split up into an entrainment flow which is introduced into the vessel upstream of the pick-up area and a dilution flow which is led to the pick-up area via the outer tube of the inserted nozzle, thereby withdrawing the slurry of transport fluid and solids through one or more retracted inner tube(s). |
