PURPOSE:To manufacture a ferrite having a high transverse rupture strength by a method wherein material powder manufactured by hydrothermal synthesis is subjected to calcination before it is molded and baked. CONSTITUTION:A metal compound water solution containing prescribed quantities of Mn, Zn and Fe is brought into contact and mixed with a water solution of NaOH, KOH, NH3OH or the like so that an alkali suspension can be prepared. Next, this alkali suspension is put in a pressure vessel and subjected to a hydrothermal reaction treatment at 120 to 250 deg.C, so that a ferrite precipitate be formed. This ferrite precipitate is washed by water, dried and then baked. After ferrite material powder obtained in this way is subjected to calcination, it is molded and baked and thereby a ferrite is formed. By this method, the ferrite having high uniformity and denseness and a high transverse rupture strength can be manufactured. |
