PURPOSE:To provide an optimum objective engine speed according to the traveling purpose by retrieving a map to obtain the target engine speed based on the adaptation factor, and controlling a continuously variable transmission so that the engine speed is made to be the target speed. CONSTITUTION:The output signals of an engine speed detector 2 and an engine load detector 3 are received by a microcomputer 5, and a change gear ratio control motor 6 is controlled through a driver 7 by the control signal obtained in the microcomputer. When the change gear ratio control motor 6 is controlled in the microcomputer 5, the adaptation factor (A) which is the element to determine the target speed of the engine is computed by the formula A=athetaths+b DELTAVs based on the constants a, b, the average engine load thetaths and the average change of the vehicle speed DELTAVs. Then, the map to obtain the target engine speed is retrieved based on the adaptation factor (A) and the control signal is determined so that the engine speed is made to be the objective speed. |
