PURPOSE:To obtain an agricultural and horticultural insecticide exhibiting effective controlling effect such as insecticidal effect and growth-inhibiting effect on stored grain vermin, grain vermin, etc., by using phytocystatin as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective insecticide contains a phytocystatin which is a cysteine proteinase inhibitor existing in plant, preferably oryzacystatin originated from rice seed, as an active component. The insecticide is mainly effective in controlling stored grain vermin such as weevils and fluit body vermin such as stinkbugs, parasitic to various crops such ad cereals and beans and, in addition to the above, it can be used in general for the control of vermin containing cysteine proteinase. |
