PURPOSE:To send carbon dioxide into an abyss by sealing liquefied carbon dioxide under pressure into a liq. transport pipe having a specified structure, suspending the sealed pipe into an abyss and then opening the lower end to discharge the liquefied carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION:The sea surface is shown by A and an abyssal region >=3000m in depth is shown by B. A semi-submersible marine structure 1 is moored by a mooring rope 2, and various structures 3 of equipement are placed on the structure 1. A liq. transport pipe 10 is suspended from the terminal device 4 and supported. The pipe 10 consists of an inner plastic pipe, a pressure reinforcing layer and an axial force reinforcing layer and is a flexible high-pressure transport pipe, the overall sp.gr. is controlled to 1 to 1.2, and hence the pipe is not floated but suspended in the sea. The liquefied carbon dioxide is pressurized to >=50kg/cm<2> and sealed into the transport pipe 10 on the structure 1, and the pipe is suspended into the abyss. The lower end of the pipe 10 is opened in the abyss to discharge the liquefied carbon dioxide into the abyss. The gaseous carbon dioxide causing global warming is settled and retained as liq. in the abyss in this way. |
