PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of blocking and various problems accompanied thereby even in a state wound in a roll form and to form a color image of high quality regardless of the kind of an image receiving sheet. CONSTITUTION:A receiving layer transfer sheet is obtained by forming a releasable transfer dye receiving layer on one surface of a long base film and characterized in that an adhesive layer 4 composed of a thermoplastic resin with a glass transition temp. of 50-80 deg.C is provided on the transfer dye receiving layer 3. A composite thermal transfer sheet is obtained by successively forming a single- color or plural-color dye layer 2 and a releasable transfer dye receiving layer 3 on one surface of a long base film and characterized in that an adhesive layer 4 composed of a thermoplastic resin with a glass transition temp. of 50-80 deg.C is provided on the surface of the transfer dye receiving layer 3.
