This process is outstanding in that it consists: in conventionally manufacutring the basic textile backing (1, 2); raising the bonding needles (5) used in forming the locking mesh (4) across the warp yarn lap of said basic backing (1, 2); retracting said needles (5) under the basic textile backing (1, 2); inserting the decorative weft (6) at right angles to the warp yarns (2) of said basic textile backing; raising said needles (5) and simultaneously shifting, according to a circle arc movement and using guides, the locking mesh yarn (4) in order to twill the path of said needles (5), tereby forming the decorative weft's locking mesh; displacing in translation at top dead centre the binding guides (23) used in forming the locking mesh (4), thereby flattening the decorative weft yarn against said needles (5); lowering said needles (5) which draw the mesh-forming yarn (4), by creating a loop of meshes enclosing the decorative weft (6); and reshifting in translation at bottom dead centre said guides (23) in view of a new cycle.
