The workpiece (3) is placed on the clamping plate (2) which is held between two pairs of jaws (1). Locking pins (16,17) inserted in bores (18,19) in the clamping plate and alignable bores (13,20) in the jaws, secure the clamping plate in a precise position. The clamp revolves about its long axis and comprises two parallel supports (5), and a bore to determine the position is drilled in a sliding block (11) which can be lined up with a fixed bore (20) in the support. Clamping jaws (23,24) grip the edge of the plate, and guide rails with C-shaped cross section (9) are planted along the upper edges of the supports.
