The ink jet print head has a zigzag pattern of nozzles located in a circle near the centre of the printhead. The ink supply chamber (12) is also circular and connects with a number of smaller chambers (14) that are assigned to the nozzles. These chamber project radially. The ink jet chambers, supply slots (16) and nozzles are formed on a rectangular substrate using an etching process. Actuation of each ink jet nozzle is provided by piezoelectric elements arranged in a circle. Points on the zigzag location lines are selected to provide high dot print density.
