The thermal printer has upper (2) and lower (1) housing sections hinged (3) together. A mechanical latch (4) secures the parts. Pairs of feed rollers (6-9) are mounted on the housing halves and each pair contains on spring loaded contact roller guide surfaces (10, 11) are formed to locate the flexible card as it is transferred from one end to the other (13). The feed motion of the card through the printer is controlled by a transfer head (14) that is mounted on hinged links (17, 28). The links are moved by a cam disc (20). A stop lever is also operated (24). When the card is in the correct position the head is automatically lowered and the stop released. A magnetic head may be provided to read coded data on the card. USE/ADVANTAGE - for printing of cards ,e.g. ticket, or reading data on them. Avoids folding or creasing card.
