The pipe (1) is gripped on each side by a strut (4a,4b) linked to the apex of a pair of support struts. The inner struts (2a,2b) are under compression while the outer two struts (3a,3b) are under tension. The struts are mounted on a U-profiled support frame (5) fitted to the wall. The couplings between the struts provide degrees of freedom which allow the chimney pipe to expand when heated. The movement is taken up by the joint. The supports frame is fitted to the wall using insulated supports. USE/ADVANTAGE - Support frame for metal chimney pipe with simple fitting, takes large thermal displacements.
