METHOD FOR CULTURE OF PHOTOBACTERIA

A photosynthetic bacterium is isolated from soils or pond mud. The strain was screened on a medium containing (NH4)2HPO4, sodium glutamate by culturing under aerobic, dark condition at 25-35 deg.C, pH 6.8-7.6. For the cultivation of the photosynthetic bacterium to a high concentration, acetic acid was used as a substrate, and mineral sources, vitamins, and inorganic materials were added semi-continuously.
