<p>The invention relates to an apparatus for measuring the density of steam in a steam pipe by the neutron method. According to the invention, it comprises a hollow container (27) defining a space, a neutron source (21) located in this space, first and second neutron detectors (22, 23) arranged longitudinally in the space with the neutron source between them, the second detector being covered with a cadmium neutron shielding which absorbs the thermal neutrons while allowing the epithermal neutrons to pass through, a means (24) for receiving signals and calculating density, and a thermal neutron shielding (28) circumferentially surrounding the container or else leaving an annular space between them. The invention applies in particular to measuring the density of steam at the bottom of injection shafts (wells). <IMAGE></p> |
