An insert intended to ventilate the middle ear of a patient consists of a fine gold tube (10) of small diameter or of a fine gold wire. To strengthen it during insertion, a flexible wire (12) with a grip head (13) is pushed into the fine gold tube (10) and is withdrawn again after insertion. In addition, a retention stopper (14) can be pushed onto the wire (12) for the purpose of applying tweezers in order to hold back the inserted fine gold tube (10) when withdrawing the wire (12).
