The door has two leaves (5,7) with the one leaf (5) extending over one third of the door width and the other leaf (7) extending over two thirds of the door width. The two leaves are connected by hinges with a vertical axis. When the door is open one leaf swings inwards and the other leaf swings outwards so that the door extends by approximately the same distance in each direction. The hinges of the leaves are so designed that they can be dismantled in the direction at right angles to the hinge axis. USE/ADVANTAGE - The door is intended for a lavatory used by a physically handicapped person. In the event of a collapse of the user inside the lavatory, the door can be opened from outside by dismantling the hinge connecting the two leaves.
