<p>This invention relates to a method of making a water resistant, aqueous dispersion-based adhesive. The adhesive is recommended mainly for bonding plastic flooring to concrete substrate. In the method according to the invention, 5-50 weight parts of epoxide resin or a modified epoxide resin are introduced to an aqueous dispersion of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, or of an acrylic ester copolymer, or of a chloroprene copolymer. That amount is related to 100 weight parts of said copolymers having a glass transition temperature below -5 °C. Separately a liquid polyaminoamide curing agent is emulsified in water or in an aqueous dispersion of same copolymer. While using 20-100 weight parts of polyaminoamide per 100 weight parts of epoxide resin and mixing both components of the adhesive, it is applied to the substrates to be bonded.</p> |
