The steel needle (1) is fitted with a plastics sheath (2). It can puncture blood- and other vessels in the body. A flat (2a) or groove (2) at one side of the needle runs for its full length. Its dia. can be slightly less than the ID of the sleeve, which can have a sampling passage from the needle sealed by rubber or plastics. The needle can have a holding button or bracket of metal or plastics, extending to the needle tip, and the sheath can be fixed in place by adhesive tape. USE/ADVANTAGE - Min. skin, tissue or vessel lesion and risk of infection when puncturing blood vessel.
