Cd, Zn and Pb are recovered from Cl- and S-contg. flue dust by mixing the flue dust with excess carbon, and with alkali carbonate, or - hydroxide, pref. soda or caustic soda, in a stoichiometric proportion for binding Cl and S, and reducing the reaction mixt. at 1000-1200 degrees C in an airtight vessel. The Cd and Zn vapour formed is condensed. Liquid Pb and the alkali chloride and -sulphide contg. slag is tapped. Pref. the Cd and Zn metal vapour is passed over a bed of glowing coke before condensation.
|
