<p>A wide field outside mirror (2) allows the driver of a motor vehicle a rear and side view without turning round. It comprises a first planar mirror portion (31), and a second planar mirror portion (4) defining an obtuse angle with the first one. A curvature (3), interconnecting the first and second mirror portions, has a length of about 1 cm to form a smooth transition between the plane of the first mirror portion and the plane of the second mirror portion whereby an object having its image reflected at least in part by the curvature is visible in the outside mirror. Accordingly, the image of a vehicle moving within the wide field of the outside mirror is reflected without interruption by the first mirror portion, the transition curvature and/or the second mirror portion.</p> |
