摘要 The ID method involves using a semiconductor disc (1) having a coding pattern (2) formed on a section of the periphery and this is read (3) and decoded to identify the disc. The code symbols are in the form bar code segments formed by parallel grooves (4) with a depth of approximately 100 microns. The width of the grooves vary dependent upon the type of bar code structure used. The reading unit is of an optical type in which a transmitter (10) outputs through an optical fibre (11) and lens and the received signal is relayed by optical fibre (13) to a receiver (14) butt into the processing units. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides reliable identification for use in processing of discs.
