Catalytic conversion of 1-6C organic feeds is effected by (a) contacting the feed with a catalyst comprising a crystalline microporous solid and a matrix material; (b) regenerating the catalyst; and (c) recycling the catalyst to step (a). The improvement comprises increasing the effectiveness of the catalyst in step (a) by (i) conditioning the regenerated catalyst, (ii) conditioning at least one component of the fresh catalyst, or (iii) carrying out step (a) in the prsence of a conditioning agent incapable of entering the pores of the catalyst. The catalyst comprises 1-99 wt% of a layer clay, zeolite or non-zeolitic molecular sieve (esp. siicoaluminophosphate) with an ave. pore dia. below 5 Angstroms, and 1-99 wt% of a binder or filler. |
